College Readiness – High School

College graduation can only happen when our scholars are accepted and enroll in colleges that are the perfect fit for them. At Legacy College Prep High School, we support scholars with exploring their college and career options, then help them make the best decision for their future based on their aspirations.

Starting in 9th grade, scholars have access to the following college and career readiness seminars:

  • Freshman Seminar: GPA Goal Setting, Introduction to College Life, SAT Prep
  • Sophomore Seminar: Resume Building, Internships, Career Skill Building, SAT Prep
  • Junior Seminar: SAT Prep, Personal Statement Writing, Scholarship Applications
  • Senior Seminar: College Applications, College Decisions, and Senior Capstone Project

We have a team of College Counselors who help scholars in the following ways:

  • Provide feedback and support on Personal Statements and College Essays
  • Help scholars register for the SAT and ACT
  • Provide scholars with resources for financial aid, including scholarship opportunities
  • Meet with scholars once a month starting in 11th grade to create consistent support
  • Work with scholars on creating a list of colleges and universities to apply to
