Summer Schneider

Summer Schneider is the Founder of Legacy College Preparatory Charter School, where her vision for rigorous academics, strong school culture, and expanded opportunities for students helped shape the foundation of Legacy.

With more than 15 years of experience in education and school leadership, Mrs. Schneider has dedicated her career to developing educators, building strong school communities, and advancing educational opportunities for students. Prior to founding Legacy, she completed a year-long fellowship with Building Excellent Schools (BES), focused on charter school design and leadership.

Earlier in her career, Mrs. Schneider spent five years with the Noble Network of Charter Schools at Chicago Bulls College Prep, serving as a mathematics teacher and Dean of Instruction. She also began her career as a Teach For America corps member in St. Louis, where she taught high school mathematics and served as Math Department Chair at Soldan International Studies. Additionally, she spent four years as an adjunct instructor at Relay Graduate School of Education, supporting the development of new and veteran mathematics educators.

After serving as Legacy’s founding Executive Director, Mrs. Schneider has continued her commitment to leadership and public service through graduate study at the Harvard Kennedy School, where she is pursuing a Master in Public Administration.

Mrs. Schneider holds bachelor’s degrees in Business Economics and Business Administration from the University of Kentucky and a master’s degree in Secondary Mathematics Instruction from the University of Missouri–St. Louis. Her continued work in education and public leadership reflects the same commitment to opportunity and excellence that inspired the founding of Legacy.
